Its broken. I open it, I get the following error window.

DLL:
An attempt was made to load a program with the incorrect format.

Then I get another window.

Adobe Photoshop:
A required application library failed to load and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application.

So what do I do? I got pics to edit and I want this to work.

DLL = Dynamic Link Library. It can't find it on your hard drive. Why, if it worked before, I have no clue. You need to reinstall the program.

I did, and made sure it reinstalled all the DLL's. I have no idea what happened to it.

You reinstalled it and you get the same error? You might consider uninstalling the program before reinstalling, but you'll lose all your customa ctions, plugins and such unless you back up those folders to a holding directory and then move the contents back to the correct folders after reinstallation.

I'm not sure what version of PS you're using, but trying some of these steps might help.

Thanks, that did actually help. Up and running again. Really do appreciate the responses. Maybe if someone checks out my umbrella thread, and responds to that, itll really make my day. Hahaha

Thanks again.

Uninstall and Reinstall in a different folder
it could be a registry error.

Thats my 2 cents

Please don't promote software piracy, even when it's an overpriced monopoly. :(

Agreed about software piracy.

Given that Photoshop is at version 9 now I doubt you could actually purchase version 4 anywhere. :)

!!!!!!

EXCUSE ME

!!!!!

BUT HOW IS IT NOT PIRACY IF HE OWNS A LICENSE

He said his Photoshop broke and won't re-install. Sending him a copy of the CD if his copy is bad, scratched, etc. is NOT piracy.
