I have used v1 of the Fong Lightsphere and it is v good - a forum search should throw up plenty of comments and examples!

It is like a softbox attached to your flash... an interesting concept.
It is OK for indoor candid event photography where you cannot control the lighting and have to move around a lot but even then most people that do that type of photography seriously have assistants carry portable lighting. For the most part regular portraiture work is done with studio lighting.

Strange, I went through to look at the price for Europe, and it goes to Ebay where there is a message in a picture saying 'Do not trust this reseller' |

I was about to update to v2 (and to take into account my upgrade to 580EX flash) - shipping to UK was est. at $56, but it is not clear if that includes the $48 for the product. I presume so, in which case I will buy direct from site.
Anyone know of any Gary Fong promotional discount codes?! (I got sent one at New Year but it has expired).

It is worth having in your toolbox.
We have one for the studio and when shooting outdoors..as always it depends on the light and situatin but it is a good tool to have for sure. |

I have one. It works as advertised. When you use it indoors, just point it up and shoot.
Outdoors, for fill, you just point it at your subject.
