In basic too? How about full photo soft focus then, or full photo auto saturation?

(changing the subject slightly) Kybosh, you should submit a pic of your cam, clicking on it shows a MKII.

Hmmm...even if the grain distorts part of the picture a lot?
Like say I select the sky or something and add a bunch of grain so it doesn't look like a sky anymore....is that legal?

I know and i complained about that months ago. However, I don't really have a way to take a picture of my camera. Maybe if I could figure out how that one person did the self portrait shot of his own camera... lol
i guess there's always stock photos, but it's not a big difference when you look at them anyway.

The editing rules are intended for fixing imperfections and bringing out the potential of your capture. Using ANY tool to distort or filter your image to the point that it's not even recognizable will lead to a DQ. Think of it this way... you can legally apply a little Gaussian Blur over the entire image in Basic Editing to help smooth out grain or soften the focus, but if you apply the blur to such an extreme that the photo is just a vague smudge, then that's no longer touching up your entry and will lead to a DQ. Common sense should be enough to know the difference.

:)
Incidentally, with our handy new ticket system, the request is pretty much in our face until we deal with it so it's a good way to get something done. |

What about that photo? I was thinking about editing another picture kinda like that for the roads challenge..but with less craziness. I applied a vertical grain filter to the sky and I was thinking about applying it on a much lesser scale on my entry, so it wasn't taht noticable...
Any thoughts?

Unless that's some funky aurora in your capture, I'd say it's the road to disqualification. |
