I just downloaded and loaded a film-strip action for PS and attempted to try it on a photo, however at the steps it kept saying:

the object "__________" is not currently available

continue or skip

And then the same error for every step :)

What's up? Is it because I have certain version of photshop? I have 7.0, I figured it'd all work.

Any advice?

Yes. Some actions written for PS 7 will not run in CS2 since menu selections etc have been moved around.

edit: I tried the same action you did in CS2 but since it's written for an earlier version.

Alot of actions won't run unless you have a flattened image also.

Edit: and what mavrik said below

That's not usually the problem with that error. I get that error a lot if I skip a step OR I'm in quickmask OR I'm in greyscale instead of RGB .. it's usually an image-state problem in my experience.

Interesting. Okay.

I just realized I have to select three images. So okay, I did that. But the part I skipped was after it altered those images, it asked to save changes, to which I said no.

I'm going to 'save as' those images so that I can select yes this time.

Maybe that's the problem.

I'll keep trying!

P.S. I'm in RGB, too, so that shouldn't be the prob!

UPDATE: It's still getting hung up on the object "Set Selection". Shite!

I guess I should also maybe add a note asking if anyone knows of a similar action that'll work in PS7?

I got it to work!!!!!!!!!

It's the Film Strip action, btw.

I realized what I'd done wrong.

I didn't know the site also had a tutorial with more detailed info on what to load where, what files to put where, etc.

It's this action: //www.liknes.no/photoshop/specialfx.htm
