Hab=ving recently purchased a 350d, I followed the instructions on the box to get a free 256mb flash card.

Just got this in my email

Thank you for purchasing the EOS 350D and/or EOS 20D and/or EOS 5D and
registering with the CANON iMAGE GATEWAY.

Due to a worldwide supply issue at SanDisk, Canon cannot provide you
with a SanDisk 256MB CompactFlash® card. Therefore please find enclosed
a SanDisk 512MB CompactFlash® card.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Your CompactFlash® card will be delivered to you by regular mail.
Delivery will take approximately four weeks, depending on the service of
your local mail.

how good is that? As I was reading I was expecting they'd say "sorry, we've run out, hard cheese" or at least "we'll send you 2x128mb"

Well done canon!!!!!!!!!

Sweet!

Given two identical products/services, I'd spend more money for better customer service. I wish more service was like this.

We give a lot of business to a printing shop, and our rep bends over backwards for us. I think he's one of the last people in Toronto that understands what customer service should be.

That's cool! It's funny how they apologize for the "inconvenience" of giving you a card twice the size.

That is great - especially as you had to fill in the claim form by some date in December! Must have continued the Promo!

When I bought My 350D, there was no sticker on the box though a quick call to Canon UK and they sorted me out with a promo code to claim via the internet (after first asking me to see if my supplier had any stickers not applied to boxes!).

I did fill the form in before 31st December, but they only just replied.
