This was going to be my best of 2005 entry, but if you can believe my horrible luck at finally getting a decent image, the disk with the original file has a huge gouge in it (don't know how it got there) and I can no longer access the file. Am I right in thinking this was a super image, or is my sense of composition and subject still off with this one?

Not off...great image. I like the composition, placement of the moon is perfect, just enough light/color in the buildings to give them a good presence. The fade from dark (street level) to the bright rooftop is also quite good. I really like that the only real color is the rooftop below the moon. There are a lot of good elements in the shot: can see the sign but can't read it; good perspective since you can see a lot of 'length' in the street without pointing down the street itself; no people/traffic but a strong sense of 'city' and I even get the 'hustle and bustle' from it in the sense that you intentionally shot above the heads on the street. I like it. Well done. |
