(please follow the link to her photographs)
This is a link to a young woman in Palm Desert, CA whom is awaiting a double transplant (heart and liver). My sister met Kelli online in a chat room for Childhood Heart Patients.
Why did I post this here? Kelli's favorite pastime has been photography. I would appreciate anyone's comments on her photography, of which I will forward to her. I'm sure she would be elated.
Please keep Kelli in your prayers. |

She does some very nice work. Why not get her in here? If she likes chat rooms, she might enjoy the community here. Send her my prayers and best wishes. Tell her I like "acute pain" and "electron pathways" very much.

I would definitely say if she is interested in photography, encourage her to check out DPC. Aside from a pretty harsh political climate, there are a lot of very nice people here. |

when you're writing a message, check the tickbox below that says "automatically parse URLs" and it does the link for you. This would give it to you like
//www.eccoblue.org/newsmedia.htm
Or the way notesinstones did it, you choose what the link is called by clicking the little pic of a globe above the message box (4th from left), enter the url then the title you want. that would give you
click here for the link
The forum code looks like this: BUT replace { with [
{url=//www.eccoblue.org/newsmedia.htm}click here for the link {/url}

This is a great community. For those that looked, they realize that Kelli has struggled her whole life and life has evolved around limitations. Kelli dreams of working with animals and becoming an artist. Her failing health has limited each of those dreams also.
One can only imagine the effect of what a few moments of our time and one word of encouragement can mean to someone who needs it.
One year ago, Kelli was removed from the transplant list. Her pain management was out of control, her health was failing rapidly. THEN the Actor John Stamos came into her life...took her on a trip, treated her like a star and more importantly a friend.
Today Kelli is back on that list, pain is under control. Coincidence, I think not.
Thank you for looking at her pictures and giving her constructive comments, what will that effect be?
At this time due to her weakness, her photography and computer time has taken a bit of a backseat but I will continue to forward and encourage her and perhaps in the future she will be on here learning from the best of the best.

in response to Canadian_eh and Kivets recommendation for a Membership. Thanks for thinking of her.
[from Kelli's Dad],
That is so cool for Melissa to post her message & link about Kelli on the DPChallenge forum. I'm sure Kelli will want to join and get involved once she feels better physically & mentally. About the only time she can get out and do anything is for several days in between her "taps." Before the tap, she is too full of fluid and very uncomfortable and after the tap, she is dealing with pain as all her organs reposition themselves. It's like a huge pressure that increases, then suddenly decreases, over and over again.
I am happy to report that last Sunday she felt well enough to get out of the house and I took her to see a polo match since she likes horses a lot. The best part was she took a lot of photos and I was happy to see her working the camera once again. I will put together some of her shots and send them out to everyone on my e-mail list.
Besides waiting for that special call from Cedars-Sinai, she is finally getting her dental work done and has had 6 teeth extracted so far. Friday she goes in again and will need to have many visits to complete her dental work. Thank God she isn't on those Actiq "lollipops" anymore...they literally destroy your teeth over time.
Thank you for your caring & friendship,
Bob (dad)
