Ya know, farting and burping all day can be a great way to get people to leave you alone so that you can actually get work done. |
Where I work they tend to fart back two times as hard and add some 'Big' Stink to it. |
There are very few that I can't outfart with some effort. Just gimme a bowl of split pea soup and stay out of the big cloud of green gas. |
Have you installed a 'no smoking or open fire'-sign?

I have different warning stickers that go on my butt, depending on what I had for lunch.

Ok...I need to stay away from this thread now. Getting too close to lunchtime here and you're spoiling my appetite! ;^)

No fast food since September 12th, 2004, and I have never felt better in my life. Fast food might as well be posion, IMO.
Supersize Me should be shown in all schools at least once a year. |

I hate McDonalds cos the meat doesn't even taste real. Burger King is much tastier in my opinion :)

I can always tell when I'm near a Burger King...just look for the smoke. Flame-broiled and all that. For real! ;^)

Another alarming fact is that a Starbucks Grande Frappuchino has more calories than a Big Mac.
Another good read is Fast Food Nation. But archconservatives like Saj should probably stay away... |

I realize that fast food is not good for you and no where near healthy but most of those resturants are coming out with more healthier options and that's why I can't stand it when people complain about the food. No one forces anyone else to eat big macs, fries, deep fried chicken or whatever else is not good for you. The individual makes the choice, and it's the individual who has to live with that choice. How about a plain salad without the fried chicken on it, no dressing (or at least keep the dressing on the side where you can dip your forkful of salad into it rather than drowning your salad in it) and a side of yogurt and some water?
The options are there at almost every fast food resturant, the choice is yours. |

I have to say I dont often eat fast food but always regret spending good money afterwards and vow never to do it again!! |
Just for the record, let it be noted that my original post used the phrase "used to..."; In San Diego we lived within walking distance of half a dozen fast food places, and we had smallish kids. Offhand, we had available McDonalds, Jack in the Box, Wienerschnitzel, Dominoes, KFC, Taco Bell, and Arbys of the national chains very close to us. We also had two of what we called "the Bertos", Mexican locally-owned fast food (Adalberto's and Roberto's in our case), a decent sit-diown Mexican Cafe, a more-than-decent one-man Mexican lunch operation, and three small Italian restaurants with excellent Pizza.
We lived just a few blocks from the commercial fishing harbor, is why so much of this; just up the street from a main thouroughfare. Anyway, needless to say we fought a constant "we want fast food" battle with the kids. When I was on the road, shooting, in a hurry, I'd mostly seek out local Mexican or Burger King for quick eats.
Now that I've moved to the Cape, I'm almost totally fast food free and I weigh 35 lbs less :-) There basically ISN'T any national fast food near me. There's a Subway 5 miles from me, a McDonald's about 7 miles away, and a seasonal A&W just down the road pretty close, a mile and a half maybe. That's all my potential. I eat fast food maybe twice a year now.
The described shenanigans with demanding more aesthetic food took place in the 80's, early 90's.

I hate to be the one paying attention to details and actually notice this here...but this is not a big mac it's appears to be a quarter pounder. The mac has 2 patties not just one. |

I think it is a McDonalds conspiracy.

Burger King here in Korea convinced me it is not fast food.... never had to wait so long for food in my life. Because it is great. Macdonalds on the other hand is truely fast food, almost nobody there.. Fast and cold with a taste between pig testcles and snake sh!t... |

Well, for me it is 7 miles to the nearest fast food. Doesn't stop my from going though. I could use having wee ones as an excuse, but hey, I'm an American, and I like my fast food!
I have worked in most of the fast food chains at one point or another - food is food. Granted, they do deep fry "a bit more" than i do at home, but i got the same buns, ketchup, eggs, muffins and coke as they do. Beefwise...they probably have the fattiest (cheapest, tastiest) grind available.
It's the portion sizes that have grown to outrageous proportions. And not just in fast food joints.

I don't like fast food for several reasons. But why is it that when your on the road & really hungry, you always go for the golden arches? I mean we have an Acme right next to the McDonalds, you'd think I'd go in there & get some fresh, healthy food. But no, it's right through the drive thru! Ugh......
When I was little there was a big stink because they were using kangaroo meat. Anyone remember that? You'd think that alone would turn me off!
We even watched supersize me & I think of it anytime we go through the drive thru........but this little voice says "it's only once in a blue moon, it's okay....." Darn those little voices.........LOL:)

My kids like the Happy Meal toys and used to want the Happy Meal just for the toy. They'd nibble at the food, but rarely ate it. I discovered that they will sell you a the toy apart from the food. It always confuses the drive-thru attendant when we go thru and just get 2 Happy Meal toys.
