I hope someone from SC can answer this question. In Paint Shop Pro X under the Contrast/Brightness section there is an option called Clarify. Basically sharpens and brightens your picture. Is this allowed under Basic editing? Thanks.

Anyone at all?

You should be able to use it under basic editing as long as you apply it to the whole image. I don't think this is a very useful tool though.

How 'bout anyone else? Can I get an SC opinion? Thanks.

I use it frequently (PSP 9, now PSP X). Quite helpful in certain situations...

Since it applies to the entire image (without making selections) it is legal in basic editing. Same as using Brightness/Contrast, Highlights/Midtones/Shadows, Hue/Saturation/Lightness, etc...

But if it makes you feel better I would suggest sending a PM to one of the SC members. ;^)

My opinion is that it sounds legal if applied to the whole image, but I don't use PSP so I can't say for sure :)

I have used Clarify on images that were validated. I'd say that it is legal for both Basic and Advanced.
