I think it'd be fun to have a "Site Council" challenge. Basically, it would only be open to the site council members. They'd all make their entries and everyone would vote on them.

Just a fun little gimmick.

;)

How about an Administrator challenge?

It could be the first challenge in the history of the site to get no entries!

I dunno, after such blatent disrespect for an obviously outstanding photo, he might not want to enter again!

If we do an SC challenge, please just send me my brown now and save me the trouble. kthx.

lol mk, at least you have an honorable mention under your belt, heck, even General has a few top 20 finishes. Highest place I have is 26th and that was my second challenge ever with only 185 entries. I'm pretty sure that brown would be mine...but at least I'd have competition. :p

Wait a minute....

So I "don't" need to have a ribbon in order to be on the SC?

Hey that's right...

Great idea! And to make it REALLY interesting, why not select a few regular people to be honorary site council for this one challenge to oversee them. Talk about a role-reversal.

and whom ever gets the brown ribbon is kicked off the counsel!

(ok, maybe I'm getting a bit carried away now)

No fair, now when I finally qualify for a master challenge you talk about a 1 ribbon challenge :) What ever happened to those? I remember there was a master free study about the time I joined this site and then an impressionism one but are these just no longer done?

Heck, make it real interesting. If any DQ requests are made they'll be reviewed by the following temp. SC (GraphicFunk, LegalBeagle, theSaj, RiponLady, Hokie). This way, in case all of the photo entries stink...the debate should at least be entertaining. ;)

Hey, this could be a good way to make things interesting. The lowest score is bumped. And the highest score becomes the uber-Council member.

:P

(just kidding guys)

Hey I was only kidding about the uber-Council member thing...please don't run away!!!!!

I think an SC challenge would be fun to watch. The other implemented ideas are nonesense, though. Ribbons are ribbons, that's all there is to it.

You're so right.

I think we should leg wrestle for uber-Council status.

Okay, but who is going to photograph it for the rest of us to see?

Leg wrestling is so one-dimensional. I suggest a "birling" competition (competitive log-rolling) whilst reciting Shakespeare. Strength, agility, and intellect wrapped up in one :-)

Okay, but if we have a site council challenge, the topic is

Challenge Description: Young males, between the ages of 3.5 and 4.5 AND young females between the ages of 8 months and 16 months. They must both be in the picture, and there needs to be a john deere electric four-wheeler, red huffy bike, and brown rocking horse. Likewise, the boy must be wearing a shirt with a dinosaur, football, or number on it, blue Osh Gosh pants, and grey hiking boots. He must be blond haired and green eyed, with a dimple on the right cheek. The girl must be wearing a black and white jumper with pink trim on the collar. She must have blond hair and big blue eyes.

Special rules -- All criteria must be followed, or it will be grounds for automatic dq.
