work lights I bought just about a month ago. They work great and I have cobbed together diffusers for them (using old picture frames and white sheets and some scratched plastic I had) and even adjusted my 'studio' to accommodate them. BUT...I realized their shortcomings very quickly. So, to remedy that I just purchased these.

Not the biggest, best or even the brightest, but with the Historical Society project coming up I figured I should have at least some 'professional' looking lighting to take on-site. After all, they think I am a photographer.

Between these and the work lights I already have I think I am good for a while now...well, maybe.

Any opinions on the lights? Did I make a bad choice?? (they came recommended from someone here in a thread a while ago)

Looks fine to me, pal. A good price, ought to function ok. Word to the wise: DON'T use those umbrellas outside in a breeze :-) Been there, done that...

Yeah, I don't think I will be using them outside. And around here the breezes can be pretty strong.

I always recomend having a few sandbags for outside work to keep the stands steady from wind / stupid people.

Will the Library need the same setup? H

You meant museum right? I will bring them. I will be doing the macro stuff for the Historical Society. I have talked to two different people at the museum and will probably be doing the macro stuff for them as well. The lady will be at our next meeting where final arrangements will be made. They are all out this week.

H - have a good new year! Safe above all else! See you on the 3rd. (same goes for all by the way)

It isn't so much that they'll blow over, it's that they twist around and are generally unweildy in any kind of breeze. Unless you have a couple assistants :-)

if you dont have sandbags, you can fill up fizzy drinks bottles and tie them together etc.
