Groovy. Well, that is if the others agree.
Can we get out the bong and then go to the 7/11 for munchies?

I don't know.... I don't remember much of the late 60's, early 70's...........

A few brain cells kick off?

"If you can remember the 60's, then you weren't really there." or much of the 70's as I recall:)

Reading these posts, it would appear that most of us are good for one thing at least, being up early enough to catch the morning light. However, I do find that I have to take more bathroom breaks during photo sessions than I used to, have attracted the name "walnut bladder" by the family.

I know what your saying, although I am not as bad as i was my family call me ''mouse bladder''

Most of the people I work with call me pop or dad as they are late 20's early 30's

I have to say that I enjoy life more now than I did, well I think so but then I cant remember much of the 70's!

Oh and yeh sex is way better these days! (YES people over 50 do have a sex life!!)

Hey, I'm over 60 and I'd love to participate in a contest for "fully mature" folks. I THINK I can manage to find my shutter release. PLEASE don't ask for a representation of the 60s OR the 50s. Let's just wheel our walkers around and shoot like all the young photogs. ;)

Get REAL, guys! You're only as old as you feel. I work with people primarily in their 20s and early 30s. I get there earlier, work harder, stay longer than them, then feed my photo addiction til early morning. As Weird Al once sang, I'll be mellow when I'm dead. Til then, there are a TON of images I wanta make in a TON of places I need to visit.

Not worried that too many 21 and under are awake and functional yet, but if they read that, they're probably going "ewwwwwww" and cringing! LOL

ohmigosh - you have a two year old??? Well, hey that's great. I'm just waiting around for grandbabies; no way I want to chase kids again 24/7 and go through TEENAGE years again. Well, enjoy your hair now, it'll probably be around for only another 11 years!

Yes I have a 2 year old, a 7 and an 11. I am just a late blummer I guess and I also robbed the craddle too :)

I don't see a reason in setting a theme. So why not just shoot whatever you wish and no editing restrictions. I can make a special gallery on my smugmug and number the photos 1 - whatever. Then everyone can vote. Once voting is over I will delete the image. I don't want to be the sole judge. We can have a prize maybe a free membership here. But I don't want to pay for it myself. Maybe a few here can donate a few buck to the 50 and over contest. Anybody else want to shoot out ideas?

Rex - here are some thoughts.
Perhaps there could be an elimination contest. For example:

1. Choose something you're good at and shoot it. (free study)

The top four vote-getters might go on to this:

2. Choose a decade and shoot it

The final two?

3. Choose something silver and shoot it.

Now, we presently have blue, red and yellow ribbons.
For this contest, the winner could receive a --- Silver Ribbon!
It would go nicely with our (mostly) silver thatches.

Would this be difficult to set up?

And more importantly, is there enough interest out there to do this or some other variation on the theme.

LMAO! Yeah I figured as much (robbing the cradle). Not too many women 40 and over who have been through the teenage years with their kids would want to start over again with babies knowing what lies ahead!!!! Now, I know some are going to disagree and so be it (and my own kids were actually pretty much fun then, but they tested the limits). Well good luck, you've got three to go and one is nearing that great time of life now!

Hey, that's exactly what I suggested to Rex (as our contest prize) in a PM. I also suggested 2nd place - gray ribbon and 3rd place - wrinkled ribbon!

You guys just let me know what you decide and what I need to do. If you want it hosted on my smugmug for a week or so that is no problem. Space is unlimited there. I will delete after the contest.
