I know I have seen a thread on this on here before but I cannot seem to find it. I have a photoshop question. I am wanting to select one item to keep colored and turn the rest black and white. I have done this before, but for the life of me, cannot remember the shortcuts. I thought it was ctrl I, then ctrl U? Could someone help me out with the correct shortcut for it? |

You want to keep one item colored or one color colored? There are a few ways to do this. You can desat the image then use history brush to paint the color back on an item. This works when you want one item with more than one color but is not basic editing legal. Or you can use hue/saturation layer and desat all the colors but one. This works when you have one color that you would like to leave in and is the only way I know of that is basic editing legal. |

Thanks so much Too Cool! It wasn't for a challenge, so will try both ways and see which works best. |

you can dup a layer and desat it, and the using a mask 'erase' teh part you want to be color (or b&w depeding on how your layers are arranged)
