...that my family was all together. Some factions don't get along overly well, and some just have difficulty arranging schedules. I tried really hard to convince everyone to make it this year, as my dad is 86 and you just never know how many more Christmases we might have with him (although I think he's healthier than me!) We had almost everyone here for about 5 minutes before one niece had to leave and I asked if I could take a quick family pic.
My family is not a big fan of having photos taken. Getting the smaller kids together, arranging everyone and snapping off two shots using the self timer took about 4-5 minutes tops. The lighting was not great...the front few folks were washed out some from the flash and the back folks were very yellow from the lighting (even with white balance set.)
One brother was late so I took his pic and PS'd him into the group.
Anyway...I know it's not a fancy pro shot....but I am thrilled to have all of my family in one photo!
For each individual, it's not a great pic, but as a group shot I don't think it's too bad. Comments are appreciated. :)

Big family gatherings for the holidays are great. My family is scattered to the four corners of the US and I have no idea when we will all be together in one place at one time again. Those of us who are still kicking.
I hope you all had a great time.

I could never get a shot like that of my family. My family is not that big, but other than being scattered - half won't speak to one another. Talk about disfunctional. Our family wrote the book! A real shame.
Glad you were able to get a couple shots before everyone took off on ya.

Ours has had its moments, including restraining orders and police intervention (they look so harmless though, don't they? LOL.) I try every year to have them put it all aside for at least a day for the the kid's and for my Dad - who really wants nothing more for Christmas than for his family to be together. Things have been a lot smoother lately, so I was hopeful this year of getting them all together.
People were loving, the kids had a blast (my house will never be the same lol), and the good in all of them was evident - so I'd call it a success! :) |

Don't be so quick to own the entire book, my family has some chapters in there too. Its rare when we all see each other AND get along. The sad thing is we all live within 10 miles of each other! |
