In other words, go back over your pics and find something you can really be proud of to get ready for it.

OOH! I haven't a thing to wear!

My best of 2005 photos have already been posted on dpc and have comments and favs...I don't think I might be able to post anything.. unless I go out and shoot something in the next 4 days just for this challenge :)

My entry in 2004 was like this. I hid it during voting so as not to lose the comments/favourites etc. If this is acceptable then go for it.

In 2004, the only restriction was that it could not be a previous challenge entry. Portfolio entries are fine (though it's not a bad idea to hide them).

I already changed the original NEF of my best of 2005. Now I have to work with the basic jpeg. :(

Sander, how did you change the .NEF? Unless you completely lost it, the original RAW data should never be changed, only how the .NEF is "interpreted" by the RAW converter, and then only if the converter understands the changes in settings.

I use Nikon Capture; When I save it, it saves the changed settings in the file itself, essentialy modifying the EXIF.

So when I sort the files in that directory it becomes last (date modified).
And the EXIF looks different in EXIF Viewer (like gone), but when I copy it to the clipboard it reappears, with a lot of changes (in italics):

Firmware: Ver.1.02
Firmware: Nikon Capture Editor 4.3.0 W

Date last Modification: 19.08.2005 at 10:16:50
Date last Modification: 20.08.2005 at 15:37:03

Date Digitized: 19.08.2005 at 10:16:50
Remains unchanged

EXIF Version: V 2.21
lost

And a load of other info is gone.

Many other programs leave the file completely alone, but NC changes it. Putting all your settings in a different file is an option (down in the menu, not a tick button). I always use that option for DPC, but I did not expect to use this photo for a challenge. Did the same with the two runner ups shots for this year....

There is no argument, these files are dpc illegal. This original photograph must contain valid, unaltered EXIF data.

Hi Sander,
It is probable that if much of the EXIF has been altered, we may not be able to validate. It is, however, possible that we might still be able to validate it. I suggest opening a ticket and attaching the .NEF file, we'll look at it and let you know what we think.

Thanks Fritz,

I sent you a file trough the DPC General Inquiry contact option.
