A man was arrested and charged with harassment for taking photos of fully clothed women at the mall.
My $.02... if people taking photos of you at the mall bothers you, maybe you should re-think what you are wearing.
Now, if the mall has a policy against taking photos, as most seem to do, they could ask him to stop and kick him out of the mall, but harassment???
Note: I'm assuming the photos he were taking were not up women's skirts or in the dressing rooms. |

Lessee, he was taking pics of womens' butts... are you sure he wasn't charged with her-ass-ment?
Seriously, the guy may be hard up, but this "hardly" qualifies as a crime.

hmm... i'm all for freedom of photography, but taking pics of women's butts at a mall constitutes a lowlife to me.

hmm... these women could have been perfectly innocent, put yourself in their place.
i would probably ask he delete the photos and impose a mall suspect for 48 hours or something.
but a little community service won't hurt him... he'll probably take the opportunity to shoot more butt pics.

no, the authorities made him show it. the women had already complained, read the article.

When deputies confronted him outside, he voluntarily showed the pictures on his camera, according to a draft incident report.
Anyways the guy sunk his own boat...... The guy just ain't smart he should have the charges. I think for the most part all of us have taken pictured with out permission (maybe not butts) but if your getting in trouble for them
1. Hide them (not show the cops)
2. Never give up your camera with out a legal sapina (I don't think I spelled that correct)
3. worst comes to worst Delted (and they got nothing on ya)
Just my 2 cents

voluntarily, yes. all that means is that they asked him and he agreed.
they didn't have to use force or take his camera.

If there's a blanket ban on photography, then he can't take photos, period. But if they allow any photography, then there should be no restriction about photographing people in the public areas (not where there's a "reasonable expectation of privacy" like a dressing room).
Now, there are legal restrictions about what he can do with the photos ... |

Note that the "victims" of this "harassment" are not the women that complained. The victims probably never even knew they were being harassed, or they didn't care. |

all im saying is when they say 'voluntarily' in an article, they don't mean he walked up to police and said 'hey, wanna see some butt shots?'
it means they confronted him, and he showed the shots without a struggle. i'm sure he wasn't showing the shots to brag about his photographic skills.

Most of the girls at malls are under age.
Dude has no business taking photos of girls asses in the mall. He is not going to do anything good with them, I assure you that. |

How can you be charged with harassment if no one felt harassed enough to complain?
Two power hungry posse members, probably upset because he didn't shoot their butts, complained.
Note: Posse members are people that volunteer to act as police officers for no pay and actually have to pay for their equipment. They are allowed to dress like police officers, carry guns, and have many of the same authorities. Many of them are very scary people... |

I know.
If your going to do bad things with a camera you better not show anyone even if they confront you.... The guy sunk his own boat he should get thouse charges
And I agree with Riggs 100%

Maybe he'll develop a different philosophy about photography if they post a few unflattering photos of him around the mall, like his mugshot on a "Wanted" poster ...
Still, I'm not sure that being a lowlife is actually criminal ... after all, then the halls of Congress would be empty : ) |

ok but what was he to do? i guess he could've hit format quickly when he saw them coming.
or maybe.... juuuust maybe....
when he saw the cops, he didn't know they were coming for him because in his mind, he honestly didn't think he was doing anything wrong.

Maybe not a crime but the guy should get kicked in the nuts enough so he can't do anything dirty for awhile
my 2 cents
