That is an excellent idea, props to you! I have recently become a paying member (and the fact that my photos really shouldn't be in the members challenges anyway) so I will not ask for the membership but would like to instead offer two suggestions.

I went to the 4-5am challenge and looked at the top 10 winners to see who came close and what they were like. I found two non-paid members that I think are close to ribbons and maybe would benefit from the membership...(this is still of course all up to you and your big heart)

I nominate in no particular order:
RUDRA MANDAL a.k.a. PERCOM
and
Matt Nash a.k.a. GIS_boy

I don't recall seeing much of these two in the threads but really like their work and think they are getting close.

Awwww, this is truly sweet.

I too believe it should go to someone who cannot afford it and would love to be a member with the right intentions of interest, talent, and participation.

Thanks for the suggestion, Scott. I'm less interested in the "talent", and more hoping that someone will use it and enjoy it. Maybe improve from it. But mostly just enjoy it.

I think I fit the bill.
I lost my job last month, my wife left me, I have 6 children, a cat and a dog and a canarie to support.
I can't afford any presents, I had to steal my x-mas tree and it doesn't even fit the cardfboard box I'm living in.
The only thing to help me through the day is photography...

I have recently allowed my 9 yr old daughter Joyah to register her username is mush. She has avidly followed me along since I have started. She has entered the Shallow DOF challenge and is very excited about the whole thing! She would love to recieve a membership and she does'nt even know that I am doing this so it would be a total surprise!
Hope Shelby is doing well.

I don't want a membership but are you giving away any Christmas kisses? Or hugs - I collect those too! :o)

Just wanted to post and say that this is a nice thing you're doing. There were some membership requests on the Christmas wishlist thread too but I believe those have already been fulfilled by another generous DPCer!

I'll second the (self) nomination for KarenNfld. She has entered a TON lately - probly every open challenge possible AND had some good results, so you'd probly see a ribbon out of her in a member's challenge. :) ((plus she contributed to the Wish List so she's a great gal imho)
