My commute was not affected at all.

I hope you don't work too far uptown, man!

I'm having the time of my life. I work from home. My finals were rescheduled for January. And since I have no class or exams, I'm renovating my kitchen with my bro and doing a little work on my breaks :)

I feel bad for anyone who has to commute, who can't take off work, who's stuck somewhere in this cold - but I also feel the union's gotta do what the union's gotta do. Both the MTA and the TWU have some weird catfight mentality that is so unneccessary - to hear them talk about each other is like listening to third graders in the schoolyard.

But hey, I still support the union's decision to strike! It's just that I am not really affected by this (I even got to cancel my xmas trip to DC, which makes me sooo happy! I have holiday traveling!). I'm really lucky in this regard, so whateva.

Hey, hang in there :)

I'm lucky. I just have to report to a location (where I am right now) a few blocks away from where I live and hang out for a few hours to get paid.

It's had no real effect on me as of yet but I'd prefer to be working.

It's really, really cold out so I'm glad I didn't have to walk across any bridges.

my commute is not bad at all work in lower manhattan and live near the bridge so I have done the bike ride or walk before.

I live in Brooklyn. Yesturday I drove to Staten Island and took ferry to Manhattan. That worked out fine. Today I picked up 3 people and drove to Manhattan straight. Big mistake. Stuck in traffice from 9:00-10:30AM.

To paraphrase Ed Koch from the last strike in 1980...

"Don't let the bastards beat you"

$50,000+++, retire at age 55 with a full pension... to clean busses and open the doors on subway cars. And the want 8% raises and to retire at age 50.

Enough already. The private sector is beating the unions, time to do the same in public sector.

Transit workers shouldn't make more than cops or firefighters do. But instead of saying that transit workers shouldn't get raises, I'd say, NO, give cops and firefighers a raise too and balance the universe!

All my opinions are so unreasonable hehehe. I do hope they get what they're asking for, or find a comfortable middle ground. I also hope the strike continues through tomorrow night, so I don't have to take my thursday final :)

I am uber selfish that way.

the schools website says that if they strike goes past 5:00pm the previous day, then the next days finals are rescheduled. so u have about 4 hours left to know if you have ur final tomorrow katy. i'll send you a link to the website saying it in a PM.
