Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0L IS

Saw a great buy on ebay earlier today and threw in a bid....

About an hour later, I got this email:
The following is a notice from eBay Trust & Safety regarding:

Item Number - 5648634021

Item Title - Canon EF 200mm f/1.8 L USM Lens

Our records show that you placed a bid on this item. We removed this item from the Site and cancelled your bid because it appears that the seller's account has been compromised and used by an unauthorized third party. The seller's privileges to trade on eBay may be temporarily suspended while we investigate this matter further. Due to privacy concerns we will not be able to share further details related to this seller.

If the seller asks you to complete this transaction outside of eBay, we strongly recommend that you do not proceed with the transaction and do not respond to the seller...

I guess I'm glad they're watching my back.........BUT I WANTED THE LENS!

I threw a bid on a 70-200 F4 L Maybe that one will work. :)

Sidenote: I just realized I've been an active ebay user since January of 1999. So long that both my ebay and my yahoo passwords are 4 digit.

Anyone else charter users?

Congrats Idnic - I'm only dreaming of new lenses at this point. I keep saving up money, then my daughter calls home from college with her own financial woes and I end up sending her what I saved. Tomorrow I'm off to spend more on her car insurance. Oh well.

yup. well, mine are actually 5 digits, but they don't confrom to the current alphanumeric restrictions...

Congrats on the win. I think you'll be very pleased with the lens. I know I'm in love with mine! =]

The "L" came in yesterday, its lovely (besides being tacky and white), think I'll go out shooting today, perhaps have some shots to share later. :)

A friend has one of those takcy white ones, a canon 500 f4.5 (HUGE and costly) but it is dressed. Is your lens nekkid?
His has a camo neoprene type cover.

You can wrap a sticker on the lens hood, or paint it with flames!

I want smiley face lens caps!

That lens, for some reason, seems to be major bait used by con artists on eBay. At least 2/3 of the offerings I have seen on eBay for that lens are bogus.
