Like every other challenge, this one isn't about the literal interpretation of the topic, but rather the interpretation of the majority of the voters. I can tell you right now that if it's a rectangle and not fairly close to being square, the score will suffer.

chess board ey? hmmm, that would be the challenge in plural... well, the challenge is "square", the singular form of the word, meaning one... where as the chessboard while it is square, is nothing more than on group of squares that most certainly would be visable... and squares, is the plural form of square... just slightly off topic for the challenge.. hahaha! :oP
