I need to decide between either of these two images. If you were so nice as to leave a comment (a or b) for the one you prefer (out of any context), that would really help me in my decision.

B:

Thank you!

I like A. Its so much more powerful and vivid. The tree is very strong.

To me, B is much more dynamic. There's a sense of strength in the tree holding up the sky. Good cloud pattern leading to the tree helps with this.

I prefer B - though I suspect if you'd been able to resolve a little more detail and re-compose A slightly I'd prefer that: in so simple a composition, the tree silhouette is all that there is to hold the image together, and it's too much of a simple blob in this case.

b - Definately!

B is a much stronger image in nearly every way. The absolute centeredness of the tree may be a bit too much. But you can crop that if you wish. They both seem very unsharp to me, and not in a good way.

I like b best, the sky adds something. I would be tempted to crop out the bushes on the right and the top of the sky, this would also make the tree off centre and cut out much of the cloudless upper bit of the sky. Just my 2c.

A is nice and simple which I like. (a bit like me)
B has two subjects which makes your eyes flick around the photo and not pay much attention to either subject.

Thanks for all the votes.
I decided for B. I need the picture for a local challenge. The subject is 'Pétange - It's buildings, it's events, it's attractions'. I found that the wide angle showed better that this place is something unique, that the tree is standing there all by itself.
Once the deadline for submission ended I'll upload the other shots I sent in.

I would be worried using B. It does have a better sky, but there isnt enoigh detail in the trees, seems blurry or something, maybe chromatic abberation?

No, just quick&dirty resizing and bad compression. The print looks fine.

I think B is a better image, but with a different crop, something like this ??
