Who cares???
An innocent picture was posted....
And some screwball stalked, harassed and threatened a member...
Where is the crime and who was the wrong one?
This has nothing to do with politics... |

Just an observation, (and I'm probably stating the obvious here) but I feel this is not just about nudity. I think the age (or perceived age) of the child plays a big part in making people feel uncomfortable. Were this an image of a three year old I don't think we would be having this discussion. Just my opinion. |

I think that you are on point with your opinion. |

I dunno, the problem I really have is another member or user going after another, in obvious breach of the TOS of this site, in a threating manner. |

Yikes, beautyqueen, I would have removed it, too, if somebody said they found my address in 8 minutes. That's more than an opinion...that's downright threatening. Keep a close eye on your kids, will you? Scary. I think I would have to forget about my artistic expression and the natural beauty & innocence of it for awhile, and just hold my kids close. Sends chills up my spine that somebody has taken such an interest. Really...be careful.
On a lighter note...Wavelength, you're cracking me up. :)

Perhaps someone should inform the FBI that there's a nearly naked baby on the home page right now.
Sheesh. Some people. |

I'm going to take a crack at this:
I saw the photo and quite frankly it shocked me, and I am the type of guy that will push the envelope on acceptible art and nudity in art. But, I didn't consider the piece pornographic in any means.
It's questionable, on whether the shot should have been posted. I wouldn't have, but I'm not the artist. Would I have shot the shot in the first place? Probably not. I won't shoot any person under 18 years of age wit h any form of nudity (and I have been asked by parents, who were nudists to do so). But, I'm not questioning the artist's intention, because I believe it was shot as art.
Listen to the radio lately? Eric Claption can sing a whole song about Cocaine, while a Kid Rock song will have the word Cocaine bleeped out. Why is that? IS it because Eric Clapton has a more sophisticated audience than Kid Rock? Is it because of the classic status of the song? Or, is there artistic value to Clapton's song, which Kid Rock doesn't pocess?
Censorship is a word a lot of people throw around a lot, especially recently. I don't buy the censorship hype, though. I say any word I please. I make any artistic statement I can imagine. So, for those sitting on the sidelines watching and screaming "That's Censorship" ... why not try making a statement. That's how you battle censorship.
Enough of my rambling, back to your regularly scheduled program...

I agree. Not sure how some people started making this into a left/right issue. I guess anybody that has a strong distaste for the other side is going to try and make it one regardless just to feed their own hate.
Both sides are equally hypocritical yet it seems the right is the one getting slammed here when really the hypocrisy (in this instance) is on the left. Apparently the left only supports "free speech" is when it aligns with their ideals. Mind you I'm only talking about those that posted "comments" and was called "sick" right off the bat and not any of the idiots that emailed threats to the photographer. Those are the real sick people.

Ugh! You should report that. There is no place for such behavior on this site. |
If they came from people here then I would certainly report them as shite like that should be against the TOS at least.
Sorry about the image - I did see it and thought it was very well done. Didn't even occur to me that it would have "issues" to be honest. |
