| I just started taking pictures. My first chellenge is actually candlelight. By picture didn't really need much processing, and I know the basic things like: dodge, burn, resize, layer, and unsharpen mask. What else is there to know. I could just goof around with the program but that would take ages for me to figure what it is that each this does. Other than what i have already mentioned, what else shouldi be aware of to improve the quality of my pictures? |

i've been goofing around with photoshop for about 12 years and still learn things. So relax, and continue to goof around. Read tutorials. Read Books. There is no catch-all, easy way to learn everything at once.

| There are also some really cool Photoshop magazines that you might consider subscribing to--or see if your library has any. I haven't looked at all of them, but my parents just gave me an issue of PhotoshopUser and it has lots of good tips and info in it! They go step by step through a bunch of different processes...pretty cool! Enjoy your time here at DPC!! You will learn a TON! |

Ditto (about 12 years also)... PS is soooo flexible, you can never learn EVERYTHING it can do.

You might also look at the Photoshop Basics Mentorship Thread, which starts with downloading the image to your HD and finishes up with resizing for DPC, covering the basic Photoshop workflow in the process. Good luck!
