The 602 is a great camera, but the XT will be a great step forward in speed. You should love it. Just try to resist the urge to keep spending on lenses and other accessories.

Welcome aboard, sucker! Money's very hard for me to come by, but with some help from my sister I was able to use a $4k budget to go 20D + 10-22 + 60 macro + 70-200L + Tamron 28-75 + case. A few months later, I'm at well over 5K with my new Manfrotto, my 430EX speedlight, my remote release, my polarizers, my sensor cleaner, my 1Gb CF card, my lens hoods, and so forth. And I'm STILL calculating how to get more STUFF!

The only thing that's holding me back is that the stuff I want is expensive stuff, natch; like 400mm lens, for example. I think I've used up the inexpensive-stuff pool.

Beware!

Buyer's remorse only lasts so long. The pictures you take with your new setup will last longer.

when I get it and get to start playing with it, all my "I can't afford this" regrets will disapear.

First things on the list of new bits to get:

New bag
A 2x converter
battery grip

Man, the floodgates have just opened for you...
Last xmas i had an S602 and wanted a Rebel (or a D70). The week after christmas I got it, and the addiction has grown. I may need an intervention soon. I even began prostituting myself to pay for more lenses and stuff. (aka doing photography for money LOL)

I just a few minutes ago ordered a new tripod...earlier this week i got a Tamron 70-210 2.8 SP LD lens...last month it was a relfletor and a Tamron 24-135 SP lens...and in the middle a lenspen.

Just don't buy good glass. that is what starts the addiction. I thought i'd be safe staying away from L glass...but NOOOOOO.....I found EX, SP and PRO....
