Just curious if camera on The Best Photos of 205 issue of Time this week is a real camera or an artist's rendition.

| Looks like a Canon 5D to me. |

The camera is a Canon. The lens has been "edited"; read the copy around the rim :-)

Looks more like an alteration of Nikon D2X to me. Dials are in same position and sync is on front. Doesn't look at all like Canon to me.

It has been altered slightly with the name being removed but that's about it. It is without a doubt a Nikon F5 or D1/x/h series camera. www.dpreview.com has some nice shots of the D1 series in their reviews for comparison and they were basically built on the F5 chassis without too much modification on the front.
