I've met Buck Taylor, very nice guy, his kids were pretty cool too. He was the grand marshall for our Rodeo one year.
I've held the door open for Joe Montana but I didn't know it at the time because I had my head turned the other way watching Melissa come to the door from the car. He said thank you, was very polite but when he was in the store, guess he had trouble coming up with the money for a juice, LOL!
I'm met Andrew Dan Jumbo, the pictures and story is there. He's a very sweet, patient man.
I've seen Carroll O'Connor of Archie Bunker fame from across a store and I've also waited on Marie Osmondonce in a store but didn't realize it was her until after she left. Very nice lady.

I actually the great pleasure of spending a few hours with Sting and we had a sing song and he played my guitar too.. he is an absolutely AMAZING musician and a TOTAL gentleman so much so in fact that I forgive him for supporting Newcastle United.
Seriously though... A very great man who has time and manners when talking to lesser mortals like myself.

hmmm.. took some thinking, but here goes:
* William T. Piper (Piper Aircraft) was my godfather.
* Max Conrad - The flying Grandfather (Many aviation records in Guiness Book) was a close family friend.
* Flown in Bill Lear Jr.'s personal Lear Jet (he took my Dad & I for a ride).
* Met Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney & Count Basie (have a nice pic of them) while in Jamaica.
* Met Steve McQueen, Ali McGraw (twice) & Dustin Hoffman during the Papillion filming in Jamaica.
* Met President Gerald Ford (briefly) during the USS Nimitz commissioning in 1975. (my Navy days)
* Know Tony Robbins (cool house/castle in Del Mar) and have worked on his vehicles.
* Met Ivan (The Ironman) Stewart and he signed a house warming picture for us when we opened our shop.
* Have a signed proclamation from Gov. Schwarzenegger mailed to me.
* Met a few of the San Diego Chargers recently.
But most memorable, was meeting scalvert and skiprow
Edit: (had a brain fart and forgot skip)

I have a friend who has also met him and has said the same. Said he's gracious and personable and very easy to talk to. I fell in love at 16 or so when I saw him in Dune and The Police were en vogue at the same time. I just think he rocks... pun.. ouch. |

Hmmm, not any real good ones.
- I met and spoke with Bill Gates.
- I rode up in an elevator with Davey Jones and Mickey Dolenz when I was 13 and visiting NYC, this is when they were popular.
- My cousin is the comedian Shelley Berman (but he's like my third cousin, he's my grandfathers first cousin). My sister went to lunch with him, but I never met him.
- I dreamt I met Cameron Diaz, but I can't tell you about that one ;)

Living close to Washington for as long as I have has allowed me to cross paths with a dozen or more names anyone would recognize. One that I have an awful lot of respect for is Sen. John Glenn.

Nelson Mandela, about a month after his release. One of the few wise men I ever met.

I've hung out backstage with Peter Tork, formerly of the Monkees and now playing with a band called Shoe Suede Blues, when my friend's band played with them.
I've passed clubs (juggled) with Penn Jilette of Penn & Teller for the better part of an hour.
I've met Drew twice, and Langdon 3 times! ;-)

Nelson Mandela was my patient once. I was working a stint at the Military Hospital in Pretoria, and he needed a series of X rays, so he came along to our department, and I got to spend about 45 mins with him. I remember him being tall, dignified, chatty and friendly. I was delighted to have worked out his unusual diagnosis on a tricky x ray too, but a bit peeved when my boss at the time tried to 'steal' the credit for the diagnosis from me. Mandela wrote out an autographed card for me, with a kind message, which I still have, and keep, along with the X-ray reports. |

I met Christian Slater and Fred Durst outside the grammy's in NYC once. Also met Colin McRae for those of you who watch world rally cars, in a motorway service station on the M6. No one more interesting than that tho. |

Let's see who have I met
Donald O'Conner one night at a dinner theatre.
I use to help organize a fundraising event for Hospice and was able to get a meet & greet for my father with his favourite tennis player Jimmy Conners.
In August I had the opportunity to meet Clay Aiken (absolutely adore him, really nice guy)
I look like a deer in headlights and I was having a bad hair day.
I have also met Metallica (literally ran into them), The Spin Doctors, The Tea Party and Moxy Fruvous.

Live near or in DC my whole life so met a lot of senators and congressmen - hung out in a bar in Georgetown with John Kennedy, Jr.
Sports people hang out too: Patrick Ewing, Scott Erickson, Joe Theisman.
Did sound in a club in the 80's: Joey Ramone was great, Dave Mustaine sweet, and Lemy Kilmister funny.
Best person I met? Stevie Ray Vaughan about 6 months before he died. We hung out after a show with him and his brother. We had to take him to his room he was so trashed... |

Shhh, I'm revealing my secret identity here... I do security at a major studio here in LA and I've met hundreds of celebrities of all levels over the years and have had nice long talks and experiences with a lot of them.
Since you want a story (I'll try to keep it short): One of my favorite experiences here was when they were filming "Space Jam", and Michael Jordan had a HUGE tent we called the Jordan Dome with a full-size court, showers, poker tables etc. NOBODY was allowed in this place except by Michael's permission. One day when I got off work, Mark Curry (Hangin' w/ Mr. Cooper) invited me to go with him to the Dome while he played ball with him.
We went in, Mark introduced me to Michael and countless other NBA all-stars (I'm not a big NBA fan, so I don't recall who). After chatting with them for a bit, Mark tells me to take my tie off and start running around with them (holy crap!), but I showed him my big clunky boots and he says "Well, you f**ked up, didn't you!" It's probably best, they would've had a big laugh watching a 5'7" stocky white guy in slacks trying to play. So I stayed there for about an hour and just watched. It was amazing to watch them play without any refs (or stress from coaches) and hear all the smack-talk going back and forth.
-Sorry, couldn't keep it short. |
