It's called "Magazine Cover Macro Lense" and is specifically made for the Nikon Coolpix 950. It was just released today by a new startup company named CalebOptix.

Here's a shot of the product and some sample pictures:

But really...I saw the thread about the Pringles macro lens, so I thought I would mess around with the idea a little. But I didn't have all the parts needed to make that one, so I made one for my old-school Nikon Coolpix. I'm still not sure if it made a difference at all...but hey...it's all good, I had fun making it.

Am impressed...

Not sure if you read the article, but glossy will reduce the quality. I suggest instead of using a magazine cover (very glossy and reflect light) simply buy some black construction paper. And use that instead.

Yeah...I was looking around my house trying out different things. Originally I was going to use a paper towel tube...I might still try that.

I just took some more pics with it...wow...this thing is cooler than I thought. Wait til you see these new ones, they are pretty amazing for how ghetto it is...I must admit.
