I saw a couple of posts where Amvona.com is mentioned, but I'd like to start a thread specifically for the company - who's dealt with them on a regular basis? How is it? I have seen MEGA deals lately with them and I wanted to check. They seem "too good to be true" but 99.8 after 30,000 reviews on ebay is damned good AND dpc'ers seemed to be 100% so far on them.

Thanks!
Matt

I use Amvona muslins. The look great, are thick so light doesn't pass through, they ship fast and yes, about 1/3 the price of most BG providers. I also noticed some great sales going on there. Specifically rolls of paper were $45 and now around $29.

I'm winning a softbox for under a dollar. LOTS of light modifiers with no reserve for like $5.00??? I am glad you have had good luck with them - if they actually send my stuff at $1.00 plus $10 postage, I will definitely use them for lots of stuff!

The quality is okay. I bouth a few c-stands from them, but had to replace the heads with matthews. I also bought a background stand from them. It's comparable to the Calumet version.

Not bad - so if I get a softbox for $1, that's ok? lol Even if I go thru one a month! Shew. haha

I saw several of their other auctions ended at $0.25 and they got positive feedback so ... here's hoping!

I'll snipe the heck out of these amvona products if you guys are saying a) they ship them to you and b) they don't send you toys - it's real stuff. :)

haha I won!
Total $10.24 for a new softbox! Wow. If I get this, I'll be fairly impressed.

I have lotsa stuff from Amvona's Ebay store.
- cabon fiber tripod
- tripod head
- Heavy duty support system
- 2 muslins
- 2 oval reflectors
- reflector support (had to return it but they shipped a new one right away and paid my shipping)
- and a 31" lightbox tent which is great!

And I know that DrJones bought a heavy duty boom from them and is very happy.

Quality/price = excellent value!!

Awesome! I can't wait to get my stuff now! If it comes, I'm getting more for sure! I see a professional tripod for $0.25 on there now 45 mins left...

I have their heavy duty light stands and umbrellasoft softboxes as well as a few other items, probably about 10 or so. Shipping take longer than a week, so I guess compared to others they can seem slow. The products are excellent though. I have been very pleased. Just bought a reflector arm from them.

They list so many items with out reserve prices because they deal in volume, kind of like Walmart, their prices are lower because they sell so much. It doesn't alway mean sub par quality. Just my opinion.

yu can do my xmas shopping there matt i don't mind, no really, its the thought, not the price that counts :)

I haven't bought from any of their ebay auctions, only directly from their site (amvona.com). I might be mistaken, but I think the cheaper/less saleable items go to the ebay store.

i've gotten a few things from Amvona and have no complaints!

This is all great news! They have things go for SO cheap - I'd be silly NOT to spend my money that way if it's going to work out! Backgrounds for like $10.00 for $250 backgrounds? Uhyeah!

I've gotten quite a few things from them, always happy but the shipping was a slow and no real discounts for multiple items etc. But still a great source. I did find a much cheaper source for reflectors though, charged actual shipping, not inflated.

Really? How much would you pay for a reflector, just curious? I don't know what the going rate is. :)

Well when I was shopping for reflectors, I did find a few very cheap sale prices or buy it nows, but they were smoking crack about the shipping charges. Wanted to clarify I bought from The Ebay Amvona.

I ended up buying from this guy and the shipping was actual cost and lighting fast, I think I had them within 5 days from when I bought them.

Retail it was $70, wholesale it was $60 or something and the cheapest I found it for was $55. So getting it for $10.24 with shipping is amazingly good deal.

I've got tons of their auctions bookmarked to watch today. :)
