Good music, good food and drinks, and plenty of friendly people. I think the Gallery is off to a great start.

Patrons enjoy conversation. Works by DPC photographer Sue McDonald drew a good deal of attention.

Looks like a great space! I'm glad to hear things are getting off to a good start and it's also nice to see some familiar faces hanging on your walls. Go Sue and Cristi!! :-)

Perhaps not all the guests were as enthusiastic about the event.

Looks like a good time. John Chiasson photography is awesome, I love the Johnny Cash shot.

Very nice, thanks for sharing.

I just drooled all over John Chiasson's work. Dang.

This looks really cool - a nice space, too. Did you curate the show?

John doesn't have any work in Gallery at this time. We were lightly discussing that last night. He came to the reception, looked at the art work, socialized, drank some beer and played some music.

John also does a good deal of work for TIME, CIO and People magazines.

Thanks for those links - and the initial one to his site. I'm really enjoying his photography. I hope you can get his work in your gallery - and btw, how cool is that, you own a gallery!

Totally impressed!

This all has gone very well. I am still looking for a few more artists to help round out what I already have here. It seems very unfortunate that so few artists know how to present a professional portfolio. I have people walking in with an arm load of mounted prints, dropping off business cards, scribbling thier email addresses on pieces of paper and telling me to email them, ect...

Perhaps I should do a mentorship series on portfolio presentation.

I think cluing folks in would be a huge help, yes. I happen to know the deal very well since my brother is a painter...but I bet your thoughts would be appreciated. Plus, the perspective of a gallery owner is pretty important to understand!
