My printer has started printing a row of fine black marks about 3 mm from the lower edge of the print, spaced approx. 8 mm apart, with one final mark just to the right of the image.

I did the print head alignment and deep cleaning but it didn't solve the problem. Is it possible it could be a print queue or software conflict problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I thought it might have something to do with using 3rd party paper but get the same problem with Canon paper, just a little further up the page.

Is there an option to print a test page from within the printer itself? (i.e. not from your PC)

At least this would eliminate software/driver issues, and point to a possible hardware problem.

I couldn't find a way to print a test page without the computer but what I did was print directly from the camera. I printed a 4 x 6 borderless picture. Only thing was I left 8.5 x 11 paper in the printer so the only borderless sides were the left and bottom. That wasn't such a bad thing though because it left a line about 1/4 of the way on the white space. Upon closer inspection of the print I found 3 small black specks on the image but no pattern. That tells me there must be some mechanical problem. I have wriiten Canon. Hopefully I'l hear from them tommorrow.
