I've taken several sign photos for the challenge, and processed and framed them the way I would if I was submitting them. I like several, though none of them are really knockouts IMO... I'm really having a hard time picking the one for the final submission!! I've already submitted once and changed my mind once, and I think I may be read to do it again, hehe :)

Well, to be honest, I ran around town taking pictures of a lot of signs, and the resulting photo I submitted was the glaringly obvious choice :) so no, I didn't have the same problem as you :) I'm pretty proud of it too! Good luck everybody!

I just took one sign picture. So I didn't have a hard choice of picking. I don't know how well it will do. I just didn't have time to run around the city looking for signs, so I just saw one where I was shooting and shot it.

As I`m new here and this we be my first challenge, I don`t know what to look for.

I have an idea for a particular sign but when I went to it, I found a better one (hopefully)

We shall see tomorrow.

I sat in a layby for ages waiting for the car up ahead to pull away before I took my shot. I feel a bit silly taking a picture of a roadsign.

Sat there for ages...TURNED OUT IT WAS MY BROTHER!

We had a good laugh about it and I took my shot.

Good luck everyone!

I did have a problem picking mine due to a computer error. I had my photo all picked out and ready to go and when I went to post it my software wasn't able to read any of the information on the photo such as the ISO and shutter speed. I then got stuck trying to pick between 3 other photos and I am still second guessing my decision but decided to go with the old college theory go with your first instincts when in doubt, so that is what I am doing the photo I uploaded is the one, I'm not going to sit around doubting myself if I realize it was the wrong photo I will learn from my mistake.

Just to let you know, these details are only optional when submitting your photo. You don't have to type them in at all!

I had some great ideas for some creative shots, but I couldn't find a location that would work. We went to the Smithsonian in Washington DC yesterday, so I got a few road sign shots there. My family was with me (three small boys included) so I didn't get to run around and lay down on the ground for perspective and other weird things I usually do when by myself! I didn't end up with any shots with WOW factor, but that's OK. I had a great time with my family and that was more important!

Bod, you really won't let me forget about dogs will you?!

Oh, well, might as well get "re-climatised". Just had a week off work and back on Monday...back to all the barking and snarling, and snapping jaws at the letter boxes....

I love being a postman!!

Sorry!
The connection between you being a postman, and your slight aversion to dogs has only just struck me - I guess I'm willing to cut you some slack now.
Good luck at work tomorrow : )

Edit: I doubt our postie even knows we have a dog, irresponsible dog owners do my head in too, though the dogs themselves are usually pretty cool.

10 bites in 22 years has helped to make me the shaking nervous wreck I am today. All I ask is for a break at the weekend so's I can enjoy my photography...fat chance by all accounts!

By the way, Bod, even the normally "cool" dogs hate me.

I have taken no photo's of roadsings as there are no interesting roadsings here. I don't want to submit a boring plain sign.

Thank you for letting me know this, I'm new around here and now that I know this I went back and deleted the photo I used as a replacement and have now entered the first photo I had selected =o)

I've just changed my photo. I submitted one last night that I really liked as an idea. Trouble is the picture quality was awful. The new one looks much better, but I wish I could have got another crack at the first one. Oh well...

Hah! I just submitted the photo you retracted! I'm hoping to go out and get a different one today as reshooting the other is no longer possible.

I'm all done with this one - where I am it's already tomorrow.

We certainly don't have too many interesting road signs here either. I went for a drive in the countryside to see if I could find a sign for cow crossings. Would have made a funny reference to the Got Milk challenge.

Didn't find any so I took a plain old sign and made it interesting. I hope :)

I don't think the point here is to find the most interesting sign. The challenge is to make an interesting photo of an ordinary sign. I can't wait to see what others have done.

I went out tonight and took a few more images, and I think I have the final submission... I like it anyway, I hope everyone else does too.

Gina: I agree... if you can find an unusual sign, terrific, but I think for more people the challenge is to make an ordinary sign interesting.
