Hi Everyone,

I recently downloaded a trial version of Corel Paint Shop Pro X and really like it. I have the following questions and would really appreciate it if anyone can answer any of them.

1. Can you have both Corel Paint Shop Pro X and Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 installed on your computer at the same time? (I like features of both).

2. Can you use both programs to edit the same photo, or does it create a conflict?

3. My computer is running very slow now (I have the minimal suggested 256 RAM for the Corel program - optimal was suggested to be 512 RAM). Could this be the problem? Or could it be it is conflicted with the Adobe program?

PLease accept my thanks in advance.

I think many photographers are going to have multiple applications installed, myself for one. This usually isn't a problem. For instance, I have PSP X (just upgraded), and the PSP 9 is still active. Other various photo organizers, etc...

1) Yes...use them both.

2) You can use both to edit, but need to be aware of how you save the files. You may have to have duplicate copies (ALWAYS keep the original as is without any modification...make copy to work with) each saved with the file extension that works with the appropriate program. Should see the options when you do a File - Save Copy As.

3) More RAM would help. I doubt it's a conflict with the two app's unless both are open at the same time, then it's not really a conflict, but more of a available resources issue. You could have other app's running in the background that use memory (anti-virus, firewall, etc...). You can use the Windows Task Mgr to see what else is running.

Good luck. I've probably left more questions with my answers. Sorry if I did. Have to run into town for awhile...

no conflict, just memory drain... 512's not really enough...

might wanna add a gig of memory to your christmas list... maybe santa will be good to you
