I'm interested in which of the two following versions you like of this image. Any suggestions are welcomed.

I like the first, darker one. Second one is too contrasty for my eyes. :)

Bump for the morning crew.

I really like the second one. It really "pops" but then again I tend to like pics with more contrast. The golden glow glows more in the second edit than the first.

I love the thumbnail of the lighter one, but if opened to its actual size. I personally prefer the darker one. The lighter one is too intense, too much burn.

I like them both. With that said I think you should throw up a third version to see if it makes a difference.
1. Your first picture is more toned down and I like it when I open it up in full view. But it is smaller (399x600).
2. Your second picture has more contrast and looks great in the thumb nail but I have to agree a little to much contrast when opened up. Also it is large (426x640)

IMO I believe if you post shot #1 with the same ratio and size as shot #2, shot #1 would be by far the best. Being a darker picture it needs to be as large as possible see the tonal ranges. Can you try doing that and posting it so we can see if it helps?

Okay here is a larger version of the first edit and a slight lower contrast version of number 2
