Personally I think these are great match-ups... anyone in favor of closing nominations for now... We could have 4 match-ups for this experiment initially.

Here's how it works Ken:

Someone ELSE will post an image and then send us each an original: we have 12 hours to post our version, and then the public will vote on the best version. That's Rd 1.

Then the maker of the winning version will mail his edited original to the other, and we each have 12 hours to add to THAT, and we post again. Rd 2.

This is repeated for 10 rounds. The winner is who won the most rounds of the 10, with (I suppose) the tiebreaker being who won the 10th round.

That's as stated in OP.

I wonder if 10 rounds is too many, and I wonder if 12 hours is enough time (I'd think 24 hours would be safer).

I'd also suggest we had a gentleman's agreement to work it up by stages to a grand finale, as opposed to pulling out all the stops in the first round...

Very well, post suggestions for images, they should be open to abuse. Landscapes would be great, but I think a lot of fun could be had with group shots and/or portraits. We need to have access to the original files so we can minimize compression issues.

Yes, we need at least 4 images to choose from, more would be great, then we could vote. I'm fine with the 5 rounds/24 hour rules suggestion and will edit the OP. I also think each competition should be contained in it's own thread once we establish the ground rules and images. I'll create these threads once we have pictures to choose from.
