Just got this email from my website...anyone heard of them or gotten the same?

name = Hana
email = hherron@blish.com
comments = I recently visited your website and was very impressed by the professionalism of your photography portfolio.

I’m contacting you and a handful of other talented photographers who I have identified to tell you about an upcoming digital marketplace that we will launch in January called Blish™. Blish is a fully digital marketplace that will sell all forms of digital content – everything from audio files, video files, ebooks, software, and, of course, stock photography.

Before our public launch we are inviting a small number of select producers to consider becoming a charter contributor of our site. Right from the beginning, we want Blish to be associated with great content.

Just to give you a little background, this is by no means a small operation. Blish is part of a much larger, publicly-traded company that will be spending many thousands of dollars each month driving purchase-minded consumers (in your case, people looking for stock photography) to the site. We intend to make Blish the default place that people will go to when they are looking to purchase any kind of digital content.

When the Blish marketplace goes live will charge producers listing fee per month for each product listed, but since we have sought you out specifically for your work, we will waive that fee and let you list your photography (and gain mass exposure) for free for the entire year of 2006. In essence, we really want photographers of your caliber to set the bar in terms of quality for our photography section. The way Blish works will allow you to set the price for each product, tag each photo, and earn a 50% commission each time it sells. This is truly a great way for you to gain mass-exposure, while making a decent profit as well. If this sounds like something you̢۪d be interested in, please email Brian Sherrill at brian@blish.com or feel free to call him (847-463-5028) and we can discuss our next steps.

Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.

//www.blish.com takes you to a home page, you can link to a photograoher's page and submit 2 images for evaluation. If they like you they will invite you to the charter membership program. For what that's worth.

I responded, requested more information and submission guidelines, etc. I kinda like the idea of 'full digital media' kinda one-stop-shopping. who knows, might be the next E-bay! lol

I'd find out how much the regular "listing fee" will be next year, when it's no longer free. At DPC Prints it's "free" with your $25/year membership at DPC.
