Yesterday was extremely foggy for a couple of hours - so I did the best thing I could do. Grab my camera and look for photo opportunities! I took 50 pic's which I think these three are the best but I would still like feedback.

The first one listed has noise that I did a little photoshopping but did not entirely remove it for the 'grainy feel' adds to the composition - opinions?

Nice photos. Just one comment though, the first two seem slightly under exposed.

Fog is tricky and can fool your camera's light meter. In the first two the fog is dominant in the image and the camera has rendered the fog medium gray. Boosting the exposure by about one stop would give them some punch.

Very good composition with both the egret (?) and the cyclist.

I just love fog and mist! Pity no sun was bursting through! Agree that they need more vibrancy. Increase exposure for sure, or curves in PS.IMHO

Yes, you are right that the F-stop could have been higher - was too busy on composition to remember to up the stop....I did boost the contrast in paintshop so the tones would be 'richer'.

I think I might keep Riding the Curve as it is but I would be interested in seeing if Cold Misty Morning with the crane could be improve with making the grey tones better before making it available as a print. Anyone want to take a crack at it?

Never having played with curves in Paintshop I would be at a loss on where to begin. Would I do the adjustment to all levels (RGB) or just to one of the channels Red, green, or blue?

My quick hack on a foggy anchorage.

I like the panoramic format of the images and agree it is quite difficult to create impact in the picture (especially when the sun is blotted out) but that in itself is a good reason for taking the camera out and trying to master the conditions.

I have had less chance than I would like to get out in general this year but even less in these conditions, however, that chance arose yesterday and like you, I grabbed it.

These are photos from heavy fog in Reykjavik earlier this year. I find it very interesting to taka photos in the fog - the bad thing is how seldom we have it!
