Other than photos do any of you give homemade gifts?

I've given hand-made scarves and afghans that I crocheted. And I'm sure countless numbers of finger paintings when I was really little :-)

Oh, I also made some coasters last year that I hand painted....bless AOL for sending me all those lovely CDs ;-)

Almost exclusively.

I did paintings for my friends for years. We were all young and poor and it gave everyone something to hang on their white rental walls.

I make caramel covered popcorn, bag it and put it into those pretty tins you can pick up in dollar stores.

I just sewed a little angel for the top of my BiL's xmas tree.
Now i need to make one for my own.

I have no craftabilities with which to render homemade gifts.

I like to give people the recipt for things i bought myself over the year, with an apology - "Sorry, but I am broke now".

Since my kids are growing now and can make things, i think that'll be the ticket!

Actuall I hate the gift thing. I have since i was a kid. I know what i want. PLEASE don't waste your time and money getting me something i don't want. To me it is such a waste or resources (time money emotions).

Every once in a while i get something i lie or can use. rarely though. I have more wine and champagne than i'll ever drink. Give me beer! THAT i can use LOL.

This year it is a small christmas - photos, mousepads, wine for wino - er, conniseur (sic), keeping it simple.

I do needlework, like needlepoint/petitpoint, and have done lots of homemade gifts.

I give them all the time. They have much more sentimental value than something bought (atleast that's what I say when i have no money). I am a crafty person, so it usually includes paint and hot glue.

I used to, but I just don't have time anymore to make anything. I am always busy, busy, busy!! I barely have time to do anything anymore. I need to slow my life down.

We give honey from our honeybees for Christmas. It's soooo good!
One year my parents didn't have us buy anything for each other, we just had to make it. It was a cool idea. I gave homemade paper, it kind of sucked though. Kept falling apart...
Usually I go to the dollar store and get cool mugs or cups and fill them with fun stuff and make them cool looking. And then of course, I make a homemade card, which is quite fun.

Lol, funny you should say that because that is what I make for several of my relatives every year. My father is getting a Berliner Weisse (with himbeer and waldmeister syrups) and a Wee Heavy and my brother in law is getting a dry stout.

That's a great idea.

I've made a few things like cigar box, jewellery stand with mirror etc. Usually given for birthday though...

Not so much anymore - A 10 month old baby doesn't half eat into your spare time!

I recently took a picture specifically for a wedding gift for two of my friends who got married a few months ago - they'd mentioned that they'd love to receive art, especially stuff created by their friends so... I've also given a few prints as gifts recently but only when I already know that the recipient will appreciate it - otherwise it would just be bigheaded/ cheap!

When I was a kid I took a photo I'd taken on a trip to Alaska and had it made into dining table place mats for my mum... that was the only home made present I can think of that I did as an older kid - I'm not counting all the awful paintings and ugly boxes with shells glued on!

I love the idea of making food and drink gifts but never get around to it.

I give homemade candles... my wife and I have a home based candle making business. So we give away a lot of candles, but everyone loves candles, right?

I should do well in the Candlelight Challenge, shouldn't I?

I'm a hand spinner and knitter in my parallel existence. The Ohio branch of the family will be getting caps and mittens this Christmas.

Over the years I have made several quilts for family and friends. Hoping to finish one up in time for Christmas for my boyfriend.
