I downloaded the istock screensaver onto my XP PC, thought it sounded cool. I found it wasn't working all thatwell, only seemed to have two different pics, but it didn't really bother me. Then recently I found a big problem - at least on my machine its a MASSIVE download hog!

It downloaded 1 GIG per day on my 256k wireless internet connection i.e. more or less flat out. After one week my allowance of 7 Gig was all gone and I am now restricted to dialup speeds until the end of the month !

I originally thought I must have a virus or spyware but it definately is the istock screensaver... the downloads while the PC was otherwise inactive disappeared as soon as I turned it off.

Not sure if this is the screensavers normal behaviour or is related to my connection not quite being as good as cable, perhaps it kept getting failed downloads and retrying.

Anyone else had problems like this?

Maybe you should direct this questions to the istock forum, you'll get quicker and more reliable answers from there I should think.

I'm not the only one with this problem, seems the screensaver downloads full sized pics - see

and
