I know this might not be my place to say as I am not a member yet but I just felt that there wer images that were probably overlooked. IMHO, there were a few that were overrated and some of which were not even given a second look.

Am I wrong? Here they are:

These were my picks for at least the top 20 :)

although i thank you, i deserved a low 5 because it really was a half arsed effort photo quality wise.
The idea was strong, the set up was strong, and then it was deadline time and i took an out of focus picture. Bad me!

edit - btw, the image actually isnt all that grainy - i spilt the washing powder over everything, tried to blow it away and it got worse hahah.

Damn those shoes! DNMC :P

Hey thanks for the compliment John. I was actually bummed that I didn't place higher. However, receiving a compliment from graphicfunk during the challenge and after the challenge about how the image is still very much interesting to him is all the reward I can ask for ;) It sounds sappy I know but Dan is one of my favorite photographers and receiving a compliment from him is always wonderful.

I also received a comment that someone thought my image was done by nico_blue. That in itself is a compliment as well.

I'll just try harder next time ;)

I agree with all your picks except Gloda's (the girl could easily BE an adult in that one). I had Messerschmitt's pegged as a top 10.

Just for a change of pace, here's an entry (mine) that I think is OVERrated. I can't believe it finished top 20. Every time I looked at it during voting I cringed. Why? Because, for me, it's technically inferior. It looks washed-out to me. The compostion's ok, I guess, but... I believe it scored as well as it did because of the title, actually. I could be wrong.

Of the "underrated" shots below, I expected the shaving shot to do better, top 10 at least, and the red satin shot I liked very much but figured it was too subtle to score well in this challenge.

Both of those were in my top-scoring group. I would have given the blue to the Teddy Bear, if it were mine to give :-) Wonderful shot

Maybe to provide balance for my similarly-themed entry ... maybe it was your detailed explanation in the title which helped this time : )

hehehe... I'm with you. Here's my "I can't believe I entered this busy, poorly composed image in a challenge... Holy cow, the score is better than I expected" shot.

Just goes to show, the shots I think are great suck and the shots I think suck do OK in challenges... Can't figure those darn voters out!

I agree. This shot was my pick of the challenge.

Some others I thought merited better scores or higher placing, besides the one by Mesmeraj.

Manny's 8th isn't that bad...

I thought messerschmitt's 'Let Me Be Your Mirror' would have done better. Rikki's shot has some very interesting elements in it that I thought should have sparked more attention as well.

PP, I smiled at the fact that it seemed you could only muster up one "sexy" bra. It seemed like a little wink at realism.

Basically we were scared not to vote this one high...

Not bad - just expected it to be in top 3. :)

Ok so this got me wondering. My image seems technically sound but what's up with the 40+ scores of under 5? Anyone? Not looking for sugar coating here. Just a DPC pulse so I can gauge what the "clients" would like to see better ;)

I liked the shot Rikki...I don't think people took the time to look across the scene enough. KNOB stands out pretty prominently...I will leave it at that...

Yes it's a good image but she could easily pass as an adult. It got a 5 from me. Without JPR's explanation, the image is lost in the mix... unfortunately.
