How do you get on the site council...a question I always wanted to ask...

I've had a couple of beers, so I don't mind replying.
Also that's why I'm not on the site council!!!

When they need more bodies they open it up for "applications" via a post in here, and then the current SC vote amongst themselves on which applications to accept. Last new SC were seated in February, I believe. Maybe Januray, not sure.

SC vote - it's a good idea to be a dpc fanatics regular if you want the job. ;)

Clearly it's not my goal. I applied, but I've never made the effort to be neutral, nice or even DPC oriented.

Calling the entire Site Council out on more than one occasion - also not a positive. They tend towards the stable, neutral sorts. I tend to be a bit too .. "passionate" we'll say. Plus I got a potty mouth!

@Philup: You probably wouldn't be considered yet. I applied several months after joined, but didn't get in (I assume) because I wasn't quite "established." Even now, I'm the only SC member who joined DPC more recently than early 2003.

If you seriously want to be considered, you need to be very active in the site and demonstrate diplomacy, manners and a good working knowledge of the rules and policies. Good communication skills are important, and you can't go bonkers if you don't agree with something.
