| Got my sigma fisheye, but it came with a guide plate but I have no idea what it's for.. Can someone please explain this to me. |

| I've got the 15mm myself but I'm not exactly sure what the guide plate is... I never use it anyway. But if I had to guess, I'd say its for sizing filters since the filters go on the mounting portion of the lens. |

It's used as a pattern for gel filters apparently.

I had the 14mm f3.5 Sigma that had the same type rear gel filter holder. Unfortunately I bought mine used so it didn’t come with the lens, and it took about three months to track the template down. I tried trial & error first but it’s had to get the right size & shape, especially with $80 a sheet infrared gels.

Hey congrats, did you get the older version or the new DG version?
How do you like it?
can you post some shots with it?
