I'm not sure what to do to bright this up a bit. It's my kitten snitchin a drink from my glass when I wasn't looking.

This is what I came up with..not sure if its much better than yours...black cat is hard to work with...

I think I may just be out of luck with this one. It was one of those moments- camera was on the desk, I had to catch her in the act lol. And the little poop, I tried to set it to manual and do the settings myself and she took off after the dog. Ah well. Thanks for the help Phil.

Black cat is ok to work with. The tough part is black and white cat.

-1 EV would give better results with a black cat.

Here's my "kick" at the cat. Used curves to brighten the shot and then masked around the cat, blurred the background and redarkened the cat.

I don't know what your cat looks like, so I was working blind. But I was able to get some detail in the cat by applying curves through a layer mask in Photoshop.

I kinda like that approaxh. Hard to work with such a small file though. Anyway, here's my attempt at a relatively straight finish:

Mostly corrections in shadow/highlights (what highlights?)
contrast, and of course, a little of this, little of that.

I took a shot at it and did it in b/w. I also made it a little closer crop on the left. It's sharpened a bit too much but I think it brings out more detail with it being so small.
