I was reading a couple of PDN articles on stock agencies and noticed that there was some interest in model released images featuring people. This type of images seems to fit with some recent work I have been doing so I thought I might do some more investigating. My biggest problem is that I cannot let go of my better work for $0.20, which rules out the micro-stocks. I also don't have a portfolio strong enough to get into Corbis or Getty, which I think leaves me in the are of macro-stock agencies. I was wondering if any of the stock agency followers here on dpc had thoughts on which macro agencies would be the best to work with while not being out of reach for someone such as myself?

I know Alamy is a popular choice here, but they seem to be very focused on the technical quality of the image and not the content. I pulled some names from PDN and some of the agencies seem more selective, but maybe they are very selective about photographers as well. I'll include the links, but I'm still curious if anybody has pursued these other agences?

Wouldn't your Pentax do at 6.1?

Interesting that I have found some places that require 8 megapixels. I guess I can upsize but not sure if they would allow for it. Until I have a larger portfolio I wouldn't be able to try. |
