Nobody invited me to crash at their place after the game! :)
Seriously, I had hoped to go to that one, but logistically it wasn't going to work for us. My wife would have had to take basically two more days off work to get our kid to and from school, and she just took all of last week off. So it was a no-go :(
That is one heck of a team you have there! I couldn't believe how FAST they were. I mean, as soon as the ball is snapped, that defense was right there to clobber anyone with a football. Yeesh!

y'know -- that's the ONE thing that they've been missing for the last few years. and, honestly, that's why everyone here is so much more excited about it than usual. you've got to understand: this is SUCH a sports city (as i'm sure pittsburgh is...), but we've NEVER won a major championship. people can kind of taste the success and are just foaming at the mouth.
we tried to go out last night somewhere to just watch the game and every place we tried was packed a full 2 hours before the game. people were showing up at 4:30 and holding tables. they're nuts!
so, anyway, i had to tease 'cause i knew you'd be reading this. :) i like cowher and i'll always watch the steelers play, but last night was kind of fun.
and i did have to laugh at the one dude on the crowd who had his "bill cowher spit shield" on. man, that coach of yours gets juicy! |

That was hilarious... especially how they edited it during the game -- priceless!
No doubt it's fun to live in a sports-oriented town, especially if the team is winning! I'm sure the whole city will be in a depression all week, and hopefully we'll beat Cincy next weekend.
When we lost our first game this season, they actually had a psychologist on one of our TV stations, telling people what to do if the game made them seriously depressed. People take it pretty seriously around these parts!
Now that this game is past, I'll be rootin' for you guys to go undefeated. That would be quite an accomplishment! |
