I can't decide whether or not I should invest in continuous or strobe lighting as a first studio lighting setup. It's driving me crazy. Strobe lighting seems hard because you can't see what you're picture will look like...but continuous lighting is "hot." Any advice would be great. Thanks.

What do you mostly shoot and what are you going to use the lights for?

Up until now, I've been doing general photography...landscapes, etc. But I want to get into studio portraits...individuals, families, etc. I also want the lights that would work well outdoors, if I ever needed to do something outside.
