would it be better for me to shoot RAW for everything just yes or no, everyone gets into deep convo about pro's and con's and I always get so confused... someone just break down what is better for portraits and challenge entries..

Yes, for everything serious. Jpg fine is more than adequate for family-occasion shoots like birthdays and thanksgivings.

Edit: Sorry missed the yes/no request (although taking the advice of a stranger is something your mummy should have warned you about :-)).

No - shoot in JPG if you don't want extra steps or details. If you get the right WB e.t.c. then it works fine for pretty much anything.

thank you I just get tired of everyone talking about it and im still somewhat new and i get a lil lost in the lingo.
