I have to agree that the high contrast approach doesn't make the image look plastic.

Maybe time for me to download NI. How much is NI anyway?

The last of the Aeon installments.



Not only was this a study in NI but also overlay modes with textures. I've really crossed the digital art threshold ;)

I like the first ones better...
This one, I think, would look better if the process didn't include the eyes.
But I don't care about the "honesty" of a photograph, I only care if it says what I want it to say. And I LIKE digital art.

I love the first one the best. I personally like the over-processed over-the-top effect. I don't think it'd be the same if it was just a "normal" portrait.
