I have a LARGE point and shoot camera right now, and I love it for taking creative, artistic shots, but it's pretty bulky to lug around when I'm just hanging out with friends... what's a good point and shoot that I can just stick in my purse and take with me? I think 5mp is enough for me... Thanks in advance!

If you want pocket-sized but with good features (and some manual controls), the Canon SD450 and SD550 have good reputations, and the Fujifilm F10 & F11 also look pretty sweet...

I bought the fujifilm E550, a 6mp, 4x optical zoom for around $220... great pictures, small camera, small price... so nice, in fact, that my wife does not let me use it any more:)

I just purchased a Canon SD450 last week and I am pretty pleased with it, especially considering how ultra-compact it is. That was the main selling point for me, I really wanted something very small for when I was unwilling to lug a 20d and a flash to a family function or party, etc. Very good bang for the buck.
