I would like the name "Threads Resolved" if they were indeed actually resolved. As I said before (and I know I need to develop a thicker skin) I sometimes ask a legit photography question and lo and behold no one ever responds. Then I'm a frustrated thread-killer!

Deapee, the only one I see being personal in this thread is you. Frisca clearly capitalised for emphasis, not to convey that she was shouting at you. Just as clearly, you decided to take umbrage for reasons outside of DPC and likely more related to interactions in DPC Fanatics. The reason she singled you out multiple times is that you repeatedly tried to hijack this rant/ discussion thread to follow the pattern of the other thread on the new stats. If you want to mess around trying to up your statistic, do it on that thread with everyone else and allow those of us interested in discussing the feature to do so.

Well let's see...this thread is a RANT...so I'll rant if I want. If you want useful discussion, then go put it in General Discussion or Web Site Suggestions.

And as far as I know, I'm not stopping ANYONE from continuing their discussion. I say what I say, if you don't like it, you don't have to read it...if you can't take a joke or a little sarcasm, then maybe you should stay out of the rant section.

Fact of the matter is, I have every right to share any opinion I have at any time I have it, whether personal, or otherwise. Afterall, I pay money to belong to this site...this isn't just some forum that we all clicked on and signed up to for free... I love getting personal, so your statement that I got personal has no effect on me, other than to make me happy. The point I was trying to make was that if a site council member was angry, which I have no idea if she was or wasn't, that site council member should think of the way they are being perceived, and conduct their discussion in a private, and more professional manner.

Anyway, thanks for your concern ;-)

Have to agree with a lot of what Artyste posted. It just seems to serve no real, useful or genuine purpose.

I love to create photographs too. Oh I'm sorry, did I just kill this thread?

not very good, I got mad and said screw it...but thanks for asking.

anyway, I thought we weren't allowed to bring back content from posts in the past when we get mad at people, frisca? I remember the site council yelling at a member, deleting his post, and all that for doing what you did...but I guess sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's not...whatever fits your fancy, huh?

I will admit, my question was off topic to this thread. For that, I apologise, but I am not mad. Only curious, that is all. I accept your answer that you are no longer committed to that pledge. May you have better luck with other promises you make.

well it wasn't a promise...it was something I intended to do, and made it public. You bringing it up and attention to the thread was and is an attack on me, publicly. You had no good will or intent in doing so...you are mature.

additionally, I did have a point to my post referring to your thread: You, along with the poster just before you, ie. "enticing" both attempted to be the last post on this thread rather than letting it die a natural death. I found that in direct contrast to what you stated you wanted to do in your "pledge" thread so I questioned it. I feel this is on topic in the sense that it highlights my point that some users, though clearly not the majority, may try to manipulate statistics such as the threads created or threads killed.

I agree, it wasn't a promise. It was more like "a pledge".

hehehehehehehehe....

I ADMITTED about twice, AT LEAST, that I was going to try and be the last person to post in threads...there was and is no need to link to stuff in an attempt to make me look like an idiot. I am very good at making myself look like an idiot on my own, I do not require your assistance.

If you wanted to make the point that some people would do that to bump meaningless statistics, you should have A) quoted me from this thread where I said that I would or B) asked me if I was going to so I could repeat what I already said. You should quit your job and become a detective.

you'd be surprised how close my job is to a detective. :) And I have to agree with much of what you stated in your post. To quote: am very good at making myself look like an idiot on my own, I do not require your assistance.

by pledge, I meant this definition...

"A token or sign"

I meant it as a token, to be specific. When you look up a word in the dictionary, it doesn't mean ALL of the definitions...it means this, OR this, OR this, etc. But thanks for being concerned.

OK, so you agree with me, thanks...now that that's over...what exactly is your point, other than calling me an idiot? clearly you think I'm an idiot, and I think you're an idiot...but in all honesty, did you hope to serve some purpose other than that, did you hope to do some good by saying you agree that I'm an idiot, or are you just being immature and disrespectful?

Furthermore, like I said back on page 2...this personal arguing back and forth looks REALLY unprofessional, especially coming from a 'respected' site council member...you should really think about that before you get all caught up in trying to make me look like a fool. I mean I'm sure it's working, but you're definately instigating....not too professional.
11/25/2005 06:19:42 PM · #67
i never called you an idiot. I simply agreed that if you wanted to behave or be perceived as one, you did not require assistance. I feel we are engaging in a discussion. If you find talking to me to be disrespectful, I invite you to stop responding to my posts. I have no trouble currently in responding to yours.

And might I point out that it is you who has called me an idiot, which I find to be baseless slander. I ask you to retract that comment or provide proof of the same. thanks.

I don't need to provide proof...I have nothing to prove to you. The way I feel is the way I feel...the only person I need to prove anything to is myself. I just share my opinion, and that's that. backoff!

please provide me with links or quote where I have "argued" unprofessionally with you. I speak only for myself in this thread and not for site council or the site. If you have a problem with me, address me. Do not keep referring to the fact that I am associated with site council when I am not representing them here right now.

Do you also ask your doctor for a checkup when you run into them at the grocery store?

NO, but if the doctor was in the doctor's office (ie. a moderator on the forums in the forums), I may ask him for a checkup...

You need to act professionally.

Also, you are deleting my posts...and don't say it wasn't you because that's three total that have been deleted...so you are using your powers to win your battle...so it is a matter of being site council...GROW UP!
11/25/2005 06:26:30 PM · #71
i haven't deleted a single post or thread of yours. Again, if you are going to accuse me of something, come up with proof or be quiet.

I am not moderating this forum. Other SC are. I am participating in this forum. For me to moderate it would be a conflict of interest.

Once again, I am going to ask you to provide some foundation for your accusation that I'm an idiot, or remove that reference to me in your post.

Whatever, you publicly shared your thoughts that I was an idiot long before I shared my views that you were. And that's that...I'm done arguing with you, just grow up already.

I'm moderating this thread now. The end.
