I was wondering whether a triptych would be legal under advanced editing rules if it came from one picture... that is, is it legal to make a plain border which sections the picture into three?

Yes, I believe it is. There was a ribbon winner that was like that a while back. It was a cool shot.

Here it is.

Yes, that caused quite a fuss at the time.

The rules regarding borders were changed, largely because of the image+fuss -- I don't recall if it was ever decided clearly if it could be done again. It may have, but I just don't remember, but the border rules were definitely changed.

Kind of a new approach for you isn't it labuda -- asking if something is legal before you enter it?

Depends on how you do it.

Well, after two ribbon disqualifications for marginal editing rule crossing, i'd rather take the safe route... unless there isn't one, then I'll take the risk.

"marginal editing rule crossing" hmmm .... pretty wide margins there.

Actually, one of my photos stayed for 3 weeks, and the other for 1 week before the Site Council could come to an agreement that it broke the rules and should be disqualified...

How do you explain that?

Indecisiveness.

On the basis of the "pretty wide margins" that I crossed?

I suppose the Site Council operates in very mysterious ways.

I just think it's nice that you are now at least showing some interest in complying with the rules.
